Chicken Invaders: The Next Wave/Waves

Waves are segments in which the chapters are divided. Each chapter has 10 waves. In most of the chapters there is a boss at the end. After the last wave of a chapter is beaten, it will show the words: "System Clear, Prepare for Warp!". Below you can see every wave from The Next Wave and what each contain.

Pluto

Watch chapter
Pluto is the first chapter in The Next Wave. All of the waves are unique. Chickens in regular waves have red clothes. This chapter's "middle waves" cover Paratroopers, which are Chickens holding umbrellas. It marks the debut of Paratroopers, Chickens, UFOs, Asteroids, and the Military Chicken.

	Wave 5 Paratroopers! 21 Chickens with umbrellas spawn in three curved line groups of 7. Shooting the umbrella once will free the Chicken holding it.
	Wave 6 Death from Above 16 Chickens with umbrellas spawn in random places along the top border of the screen.
	Wave 7 Third Time Lucky 24 Chickens with umbrellas spawn in a sinusoid pattern, starting from the top right corner.
	Wave 8 Asteroids! No, really! A big asteroid appears at the top of the screen, which bounces around. Destroying it spawns three small asteroids, leaving in total 4 asteroids to destroy.
	Wave 9 Bonus An UFO appears from the left side of the screen, shooting purple Neutron Gun-looking projectiles. If destroyed, it will drop a powerup. Every chapter, it goes faster. If a Missile was used at any point during the chapter, the UFO won't appear.
	Wave 10 Show'em who's Boss! A Military Chicken appears from the top of the screen to fight you.

Neptune

Pluto is the second chapter in The Next Wave. Chickens in regular waves have red or orange clothes. This chapter's "middle waves" cover 360° Chickens, which get reinforced by more and more Chickens as those waves go on. It marks the debut of Big Chicken and 360° Chickens.

	Wave 16 Reinforcements 6 360° Chickens spawn, reinforced by two more 360° Chickens coming in from the bottom side of the screen, totalling 18.
	Wave 17 Help! Hang in there 6 360° Chickens spawn, reinforced by four more 360° Chickens coming in from the bottom side of the screen, totalling 30.
	Wave 18 Asteroids! No, really! A big asteroid appears at the top of the screen, which bounces around. Destroying it spawns three small asteroids, leaving in total 4 asteroids to destroy. Repeat of Wave 8.
	Wave 19 Bonus An UFO appears from the left side of the screen, shooting purple Neutron Gun-looking projectiles. If destroyed, it will drop a powerup. Every chapter, it goes faster. If a Missile was used at any point during the chapter, the UFO won't appear. Repeat of Wave 9.
	Wave 20 Fight! A Big Chicken appears from the top of the screen to fight you.

Uranus

Uranus is the third chapter in The Next Wave. Chickens in regular waves have red, orange, or yellow clothes. This chapter's "middle waves" cover 360° Chickens which want to kill you and Eggs that keep Chickens. It marks the debut of Eggs.

	Wave 27 Sunny Side Up 20 Eggs fall from the top of the screen.
	Wave 28 Asteroids! No, really! A big asteroid appears at the top of the screen, which bounces around. Destroying it spawns three small asteroids, which spawn another three small asteroids after being destroyed, leaving in total 16 asteroids to destroy.
	Wave 29 Bonus An UFO appears from the left side of the screen, shooting purple Neutron Gun-looking projectiles. If destroyed, it will drop a powerup. Every chapter, it goes faster. If a Missile was used at any point during the chapter, the UFO won't appear. Repeat of Wave 9.
	Wave 30 Show'em who's Boss! Two Military Chickens appear from the top of the screen to fight you.

Saturn

Saturn is the fourth chapter in The Next Wave. Chickens in regular waves have red, orange, yellow, or green clothes. This chapter's "middle waves" cover 360° Chickens which fly in flocks from different sides of the screen. It marks the debut of the Mother-Hen Ship.

	Wave 35 Chicken Interception Stay away from the edges! 16 360° Chickens arrive from one of the corners or one of the sides of the screen (except for the bottom one) and fly in a straight path.
	Wave 36 Incoming! Repeat of previous wave.
	Wave 37 Engage! Repeat of previous wave.
	Wave 38 Asteroids! No, really! A big asteroid appears at the top of the screen, which bounces around. Destroying it spawns three small asteroids, which spawn another three small asteroids after being destroyed, leaving in total 16 asteroids to destroy. Repeat of Wave 28.
	Wave 39 Bonus An UFO appears from the left side of the screen, shooting purple Neutron Gun-looking projectiles. If destroyed, it will drop a powerup. Every chapter, it goes faster. If a Missile was used at any point during the chapter, the UFO won't appear. Repeat of Wave 9.
	Wave 40 Mother-Hen Ship Crack that shell! The Mother-Hen Ship appears to fight you. After two cracks, it leaves.

Jupiter

Jupiter is the fifth chapter in The Next Wave. Chickens in regular waves have red, orange, yellow, green, or cyan clothes. This chapter's "middle waves" cover 360° Chickens and Terminator Chickens which want to kill you. This marks the debut of Terminator Chickens, a subtype of 360° Chickens.

	Wave 45 Uh-oh Terminator chickens 12 Terminator Chickens appear from the top border of the screen, chasing you around.
	Wave 46 Be Quick or Be Dead 16 360° Chickens arrive in a zig-zag pattern from the top left corner of the screen, flying down to the bottom of the screen.
	Wave 47 Keep Moving! Repeat of Wave 45.
	Wave 48 Asteroids! No, really! A big asteroid appears at the top of the screen, which bounces around. Destroying it spawns three small asteroids, which spawn another three small asteroids after being destroyed, leaving in total 16 asteroids to destroy. Repeat of Wave 28.
	Wave 49 Bonus An UFO appears from the left side of the screen, shooting purple Neutron Gun-looking projectiles. If destroyed, it will drop a powerup. Every chapter, it goes faster. If a Missile was used at any point during the chapter, the UFO won't appear. Repeat of Wave 9.
	Wave 50 Show'em who's Boss! Three Military Chickens appear from the top of the screen to fight you.

The Asteroid Belt

The Asteroid Belt is the sixth, special chapter in The Next Wave, marking the middle of the journey. The only enemies are asteroids. This is the first chapter to not introduce new enemies and the only one not to include Chickens.

Note: The first asteroid the player happens to destroy in a wave will always spawn an Atomic Powerup.

	Wave 60 Leaving Asteroid Belt Bonus? Repeat of the previous wave. If you didn't use any Missiles up until this point, you receive the Mystery bonus.

Mars

Mars is the seventh chapter in The Next Wave which returns to the old formula. Chickens in regular waves have red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, or purple clothes. Asteroids from now on will be red. This chapter's "middle waves" cover 360° Chickens yet again, like Neptune, which get reinforced by more and more Chickens as those waves go on.

	Wave 64 Meteor Shower Watch out! 20 asteroids fall diagonally from the right side of the screen. A repeat of Wave 4, except now the asteroids are red.
	Wave 65 One on One 7 360° Chickens spawn one by one. Repeat of Wave 15.
	Wave 66 Reinforcements 7 360° Chickens spawn, reinforced by two more 360° Chickens coming in from the bottom side of the screen, totalling 21. Repeat of Wave 16.
	Wave 67 Help! Hang in there 7 360° Chickens spawn, reinforced by four more 360° Chickens coming in from the bottom side of the screen, totalling 35. Repeat of Wave 17.
	Wave 68 Asteroids! No, really! A big asteroid appears at the top of the screen, which bounces around. Destroying it spawns three small asteroids, which spawn another three small asteroids after being destroyed, leaving in total 16 asteroids to destroy. A repeat of Wave 28, except now the asteroids are red.
	Wave 69 Bonus An UFO appears from the left side of the screen, shooting purple Neutron Gun-looking projectiles. If destroyed, it will drop a powerup. Every chapter, it goes faster. If a Missile was used at any point during the chapter, the UFO won't appear. Repeat of Wave 9.
	Wave 70 Mother-Hen Ship So, we meet again! The Mother-Hen Ship appears yet again to fight you. After four cracks, it leaves.

Earth

Watch chapter
Earth is the eighth chapter in The Next Wave. Chickens in regular waves have red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, or pink clothes, and will keep them from now on. This chapter's "middle waves" cover Berserk Chickens, which get angry when they're damaged. This marks the debut and the only appearance of those enemies.

	Wave 75 Berserk Chickens! Don't make them mad! 16 Berserk Chickens form a 4x4 square. Shooting them once will make them angry.
	Wave 76 Shh... Quiet... 15 Berserk Chickens form an upside down triangle.
	Wave 77 Speak Softly and Carry a Big Pan 17 Berserk Chickens form a sun symbol.
	Wave 78 Asteroids! No, really! A big asteroid appears at the top of the screen, which bounces around. Destroying it spawns three small asteroids, which spawn another three small asteroids after being destroyed, leaving in total 16 asteroids to destroy. A repeat of Wave 68.
	Wave 79 Bonus An UFO appears from the left side of the screen, shooting purple Neutron Gun-looking projectiles. If destroyed, it will drop a powerup. Every chapter, it goes faster. If a Missile was used at any point during the chapter, the UFO won't appear. Repeat of Wave 9.
	Wave 80 Fight! Two Big Chickens appear from the top of the screen to fight you.

Venus

Venus is the ninth chapter in The Next Wave. This chapter's "middle waves" yet again cover 360° Chickens which fly in flocks from different sides of the screen, like Saturn.

Mercury

Mercury is the tenth chapter in The Next Wave. This chapter's "middle waves" yet again cover 360° Chickens and Terminator Chickens which want to kill you, just like Jupiter.

	Wave 96 Be Quick or Be Dead 16 360° Chickens arrive in a zig-zag pattern from the top left corner of the screen, flying down to the bottom of the screen. Repeat of Wave 46.
	Wave 97 Keep Moving! Repeat of Wave 95.
	Wave 98 Asteroids! No, really! A big asteroid appears at the top of the screen, which bounces around. Destroying it spawns big asteroids, which spawn three small asteroids after being destroyed, leaving in total 16 asteroids to destroy. Repeat of Wave 88.
	Wave 99 Bonus An UFO appears from the left side of the screen, shooting purple Neutron Gun-looking projectiles. If destroyed, it will drop a powerup. Every chapter, it goes faster. If a Missile was used at any point during the chapter, the UFO won't appear. Repeat of Wave 9.
	Wave 100 Fight! Three Big Chickens appear from the top of the screen to fight you.

The Sun

Watch chapter The Sun is the eleventh and final chapter in The Next Wave, where you get to deal with the Mother-Hen Ship for the last time. This chapter's "middle waves" cover the first chapter's Paratroopers.

	Wave 106 Death from Above Repeat of Wave 6, but the chickens fall at random speeds. 16 Chickens with umbrellas spawn in random places along the top border of the screen.
	Wave 107 Keep Moving! Repeat of Wave 7, but the chickens fall at random speeds. 24 Chickens with umbrellas spawn in a sinusoid pattern, starting from the top right corner.
	Wave 108 Asteroids! No, really! A big asteroid appears at the top of the screen, which bounces around. Destroying it spawns big asteroids, which spawn three small asteroids after being destroyed, which spawn another three small asteroids after being destroyed, leaving in total 48 asteroids to destroy.
	Wave 109 Bonus An UFO appears from the left side of the screen, shooting purple Neutron Gun-looking projectiles. If destroyed, it will drop a powerup. Every chapter, it goes faster. If a Missile was used at any point during the chapter, the UFO won't appear. Repeat of Wave 9.
	Wave 110 Mother-Hen Ship Final showdown! Final fight with the Mother-Hen Ship.

Trivia

• Before 2.30, Wave 30 was identical to Wave 10, in that only one Military Chicken spawned.
