Neutron Gun is one of the oldest Weapons in the Chicken Invaders series, appearing in every game since The Next Wave.
It functions as a slow, but very concentrated, high damaging weapon.
History
Neutron Gun first appeared in The Next Wave. The bullets used a different zig-zag design compared to the one used today. The next revision was in Revenge of the Yolk, with a new design, slower automatic firerate, faster manual firerate and changed power levels. It received no further changes until Chicken Invaders Universe, which added overdrive and buffed projectiles and certain power levels. This page describes the version seen in Universe.
Strategy
Neutron Gun fires green nuclear bullets in a concentrated manner. They travel slowly in the spacecraft's facing direction. Most of the upgrades to this weapon replace the existing bullets with stronger versions. While the base firerate is somewhat slow, Overdrive helps with it. The overheat time is one of the best, letting you fire this weapon continuously for a long while. The bullets tend to miss fast-moving targets, unless you predict where they will move ahead of time.
Its Gift is always unlocked.

- Hitting fast targets can be difficult.
- No spread.
It's a member of the Nuclear group, so it has its weaknesses and strengths.
